Does this Apple store accept cash if I get a gift card first? And I have confusion about my iPhone 4 reservation, it says it's held till the end of the day but at the bottom it says this:
Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can anyone shed light to this?
I don't think you'll be able to pay cash for an iPhone. THey charge the credit card so that they can limit phones based on cards.

Perhaps, if the project supported more than Windows machines, it would be possible to help.
It appears that the software behind it does work on Mac OS X, though. Maybe they just need to update the information on their FAQ page.

Had a few friends over last night, played some music on my 5.1 set up and this morning I turn it all on to play some tunes and one of my inwall speakers is buzzing and "hissing" horribly. I was thinking of taking a video but what do you guys think? Can i fix this by myself? Is it ruined for good? If I have to replace how can I be sure the new speaker won't be louder than the others? I'm pretty sure the speaker is out of warranty by JBL.

Just use iPhoto
Okay....I am new to Mac... so just import through iPhoto? Is this the easiest way? I'd like to be able to just stick the pictures in my Pictures folder.

I bought an ex-demo unit from a Apple reseller in Sydney. Turned up dead. Display turns on for three seconds then disappears. Dodgy gear. Have a search on Amazon, heaps of people are reporting the same problem. It's a shame, read some great reports on the unit but it seems to be a fault worthy of taking the unit off the market...

Some people have reported that re-installing 10.3.8 using the Combo updated from Apple's website rather than the incremental upgrade that you likely did through Software update cured stability problems with 10.3.8.
Worth a shot?

Same page if you scroll down says:
"Wonder twin power
The dual 1.25GHz PowerPC G4 processors with a combined performance of 18 billion floating point operations per second, or 18 gigaflops put this fearsomely fast Power Mac G4 squarely in the lead as the ultimate high-end graphics workstation. The twin-engined 1.25GHz G4 runs..."
So which is it? 1.5 or 1.25. Seems like one has to be wrong.

but is it better/faster than the dual coreG5?
There is no real way to know how it will stack up against the G5 as it has not been released yet only engineering sample. Be patient and we will all see how it performs.

Garand, your wife is making life difficult for herself. This is where it all is:
Photoshop > Menu: File > Automate > Batch...
With some batch-processing, you may have to set up an action first in the Actions palette.

Can it handle it? Yes, it will run. However will it run slower? Yes I would expect it to run slower. If this is your primary usage of a computer, I'd go with the quad-core i7 15" MBP.

http://itsalltech.com/2010/08/10/call-of-duty-black-ops-multiplayer-teaser-video-released/
The first multiplayer teaser video of the next title in the Call of Duty video game series, Call of Duty: Black Ops, has been revealed. Even though it's a teaser video, we can grab a lot of information about the new game.
The first thing we can see if different is the ability to place a camera facing down on the ground to scope enemies when you're not near them. Next, we can see a boat load of new weapons: one in the form of a crossbow that has a timed bomb on it, and dual wielding knives which can be used for short range fire and a double backstab.
There is also the ability to dive forward, a first in the Call of Duty series (seen at 36 seconds to the right of the screen). There are also new killstreak awards that were revealed in the teaser, such as a remote controlled car that carries explosives.
One of the most major, and probably most asked for features, in the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops is the ability to record your gameplay. However, it is unclear whether it would record to the console's hard drive so you can later place it on a computer, or if it will record to Call of Duty's website for viewing by the community.
Further details about the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops will be revealed on September 1st, with the game being released on November 9th for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Nintendo DS.

One thing you should bear in mind is that Snow Leopard Client has pretty much ALL of the server capabilities that server has. Snow Leopard server just gives you an extra suite of tools to use.
For File sharing/webserver/dns server/mail server/yada yada yada Snow leopard client is more than capable. Also yes, the Mac Mini makes a GREAT little server. Mines been running 24/7 since I got it almost a year ago, except for required updates.

anyone else have any recommendations?
I need a reliable company that has been around for a while.
I've always found Media Temple to be really good. They do a range of "Dedicated-Virtual" servers, which are half way between the two. Excellent value for money...

Hi all,
I HAVE searched and have found that I like "The Mouse BT"'s look and size the best. I really like the design. However, I have some questions. I have looked back and have seen comments on this mouse itself but some are a bit older than I'd like.
1) Any good/bad experiences with MacMice's The Mouse BT?
2) Does it affect the Airport connection at all?
3) Is it small?
I have this mouse/keyboard now: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=310-4170&c=us&l=en&cs=19&category_id=5840&first=true&page=productlisting.aspx
and when I get my mac, I don't want an eensy bitsy mouse, hehe.
Anyways, sorry if this is a repetitive topic.. and thanks.

I use Transmit (http://www.panic.com/transmit/). It's quite possibly the best client I've ever used (even better than CuteFTP). Also has a spiffy dashboard widget :D

That's what I have been trying! If you export as vCards you end up with a "contacts export.txt" file on desktop (or wherever). I can't make Address book recognise this to import. I thought I would be able to export directly to Address Book but can't make this work either. As for dragging vCards across, that was the first thing I tried. I had no luck. As I said; there must be an easy way!
Thanks anyway for trying to help out.

Ok time for a really noob question, what is folding?
Folding@Home (http://folding.stanford.edu/)
All the Intel clients spawn 4 instances, regardless of how many CPUs you have, as far as I know anyway. This may be a change that they made to optimize it for the Intel machines.
